biography
Formed in September 2006, Southern Maryland local group Baker’s Boys is a varied ensemble focusing on original music. Perhaps best described as jazz influenced folk-rock, Baker’s Boys songs ride a wide variety of genres and forms. Male and female vocals, saxophone, mandolin, trombone, guitar, flute, harmonica, bass, various percussion, and even the occasional clarinet, compose their unique sound.
Currently the group is working on their first CD entitled “White Roses.”
Krys Baker (Vocals/Piano/Guitar/Flute/Clarinet/Sax/Trumpet/ Accordion/Harmonica/Bowed Psaltry/Hand Percussion)
A classically trained musician, Krys began singing and playing clarinet at the age of six and then added various other traditional instruments to her repertoire, including piano. She is currently the main composer for the group. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Duquesne University,Pittsburgh, where she focused in voice and saxophone. Presently, she teaches music at a local elementary school.
Lea Cox (Viola/Vocals/Hand Percussion)
Lea is a full-time engineering student, full-time repair shop office manager, and full-time unrepentant nerd. Her NTP repertoire includes The Odd Couple (‘Cecily Pigeon’), as well as a few stage managing and tech stints (including maintaining the Players' website). She writes for the music blog Confessions of a Would-Be Hipster (http://wouldbehipster.com) and is an irrepressible musical “attemptist”.
Kevin Cofod (Acoustic Guitar/Vocals)
Kevin Cofod has been playing the guitar since he was 8 years old. He has performed in a variety of bands and solo venues playing everything from jazz to bluegrass. He handles the guitar duties in The Baker Boys band at present. He is a retired paramedic from Prince George's County Fire Department trying to decide what he wants to be when he grows up! Currently he lives with his wife of 23 years- Colleen, his 2 children Chapin & Crosby, and the family pet, a bulldog named Max.
Greg DiCristofaro (Trombone/Flute/Hand Percussion)
Greg picked up the trombone when he was 10 and has been playing in bands since 12. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Pennsylvania State University where he focused on trombone and picked up skills in various instruments and jazz. He now teaches band at a local middle school.

Nathan Earley (Trombone)
Nathan Earley is a graduate of Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, earning Bachelor of Music and Master of the Arts in Teaching degrees. He has studied trombone under Dayl Burnett, Bob Ford and Donna Parkes. Currently, he teaches general music, band, and strings at an Elementary School in Lexington Park.
Tina Fratantuono (Vocals)
Tina has a wide variety of musical, dance, and theatre experience. A performer since the age of four, Tina was involved with the Baltimore Actor’s Theatre and was a featured performer on a National Telethon by the time she was fourteen. After High school, Tina performed in Europe before heading to New York to attend The American Musical Dramatic Academy. Tina has performed for many charity events including the Calvert Artist’s Showcase and the televised Cerebral Palsy Telethon. Her first appearance with NTP was Side by Side by Sondheim.

Michael Snider (Mandolin/Mandola/Nose Flute/Vocals)
Poet and mandolinist Michael Snider writes poetry in traditional forms and has spent much of the last four years playing music he's never heard with musicians he's never met. He's very glad to have a home with Baker's Boys.
